The thought of humanity becoming extinct can depress many people, and make them think that it is man's fault for "angering God" and causing this to happen. You have to keep many things in mind, though.
First of all, you said that you think that this is man's fault. Maybe it is. Blaming it on humanity is a common theme among pessimistic people. But if it is man's fault, and we know for sure that the huge meteorite is going to come down and destroy us with one fell swoop, then why doesn't man get a chance to redeem himself? Any person who is at fault for something can right the wrong. Also, do you really think that humans, the great thinkers and improvisers that we are, are going to just sit there and let the meteorite hit us? Our knowledge and brains were the things that dug this hole in the first place, so why can't they dig us back out? Scientists all over the world right now are coming up with a way to stop the meteorite dead in its tracks, by shooting it down with missles or whatever else they come up with. If you are so worried something bad is going to happen, then why don't you take your fate into your own hands?
Don't ever let destiny push you around. You have to push it right back, and carve your own future.

Do not allow projections of future doom paralyse you from acting today. Do not feel miserable and weak. If it is humanity's fault then it is our responsibility to act to repair the damage we have done.
If you read about the concepts of Gaianism or Deep Ecology you will see that life is a wonderfully complex web capable of repairing itself, to a point. We just need to reduce the damage we cause to a point that the Earth's ecosystem can recover on its own.
We have done a LOT of damage, we have a lot about ourselves that must be repaired, too: our attitude toward nature, our belief that everything was created for our use and consumption, our willingness to argue against the truth to avoid action.
Oh, and the meteor is supposed to hit in 2012, not 2035; so you better hurry up and get involved with environmental causes quick. Just think, if we don't get hit in 2012, then we will still have the problem of Global Warming ... let's focus on what we CAN change rather than worrying about what we can't, OK?
Your concern is a sign you are a good person. Now you just need to find ways to act on your concerns. Study hard, perhaps even in Paris and New York. Learn about the environment. Try to make your home and school energy efficient. Don't stand in front of the fridge with the door open ;-)
Necessity is the mother of invention. You already recognize the need to do something, now you just need to be inventive.
You can do it!

If you've ever played the lottery and lost, your about to win this one in my opinion. The chances that the 2036 encounter with a returning asteroid will devastate the earth is small. I think we will go on to populate the universe, just like the TV series "Star Trek" showed us.
