I took strike anywhere matches and I used a febreeze spray to make a flame thrower but the gas doesn't reach the matches and the spray liquid douses the flames. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

I accidentally forgot that my torch lighter uses butane and put in regular lighter fluid. Is it bad to mix the two? if so, how do i remove the regular fluid? just.. use it up then replace it after it cools down?
I have not mixed them.

My point is, if the ion has been removed from the solution there won't be any solution, leaving only the basic liquid in which the desolved ion has been.

In the fall I am going to be a junior in high school and I will start taking chemistry.
I want to be a doctor very bad and I know that it is important right now to learn a lot of science.
I want to start learning chemistry and other sciences before the school year starts so I will be even better at it.

I have a science exam tomorrow and I would like this question answered. This is the question:

"If a chemical reaction were to occur between Calcium and Chlorine, how many chlorine atoms would join up with Calcium? Explain why."

I don't remember anything about this. I think the valence for Ca is 4, and as for Cl, it's 3, (I think) but can someone explain to me what happens? I know the answer is two. But I can't explain my answer.
