Hi, I have a miniature rose bush that I keep indoors year round. The roses are normally a coral color. Recently I changed all of my light bulbs to the compact florescent light bulbs and one of my rose plants (that is kept next to my lamp) has bloomed a pale pink flower and the new green foliage is lighter than the older foliage. I am curious to know whats going on and If it is the light bulbs creating the changes in color. The plant seems to be doing better then it ever has.

I know that most house plants emit oxygen due to photosynthesis, but does a plant emit enough oxygen to actually make a noticable difference in a room? I only have a two foot tall plant, and even though it has very large leaves, it's still relativly small. My room is about 300 square feet so I'm sure it doesn't make a difference, but maybe if I got more plants or something it would. Any plant experts out there?

I've had three different plants over the course of the past several years. The first two died after having them only a few months. The current one (I bought it about two or three weeks ago) isn't looking to great either. I've found several websites about them, none have really helped. I put the last one in the refrigerator from late November to February (more than one site suggested this), but it never came up. I would really like to be able to grow them, and I rarely have trouble with houseplants.

I read all the characteristics of different maple trees, but none fit what ours looks like. The tree has dark maroon (redish purple) leaves all summer, and then in fall the leaves turned a regular green color. Now that it is late fall, some of the leaves are a little yellow, then they turn brown before falling.
