my sister is doing a science project for her 7th grade science class. she's set on doing a project on how a plant set horizontally on the counter will still grow vertically towards the sun. she only has a month to do the project-
what kind of plant would grow fast enough so there would be visible progress in a little less than a month?
Any ideas on how to improve this project are wonderful, too.

Can you tell whether a tree is a hardwood or a softwood by the color the leaves change to in the fall. I have been told that the harder the wood the more red the color. True or an old wives tale?

For a lab study, we investigated the effect of four different colors of light (red, blue, green, and yellow) on the rate of photosynthesis of the ivy plant. In terms of my graph/lab reports, would I call these colors of light different "wavelengths" of light even though no lengths were measured, OR would I call the colors "hues," "shades," or simply "light quality?" What does "light quality" even mean anyways? Well, I hope someone might be able to help....thanks in advance.

I cut my Mimosa back to the ground because all of the limbs were dead from winter. As the new limbs came back from the root stock, they all came back green except for one brown limb. It is now about 4 ft tall and I don't have the brown leaves when I planted it two years ago. How do I fix this problem? Thanks
