Roses die for the same reason all thing die, the cells that compose them are too week to continue turning base materials into usable energy. Now, if its a rose that was cut, it dies as a result of no longer having any food.

If there was never any death on this planet, if everything that ever lived was immortal, it would be far too crowded and there would be nothing left to eat or drink and the air would be so polluted that the climate would be unbearable.
Some people take the book of Genesis quite literally. They are called fundamentalists and claim that when Adam and Eve ate from the fruit of knowledge that this is when mortality occurred. Others that take a less literal approach see death as a part of the health of our planet and consistent with their view of evolution. So roses, people, anything that lives and dies can all be lumped together in one camp.

Rose bushes are very hard to kill. A sudden on-sought of bugs may do it! The blossom itself will die! This has nothing to do with the heath of the overall plant!

why do we die? it' s basically the same question. they can either not get enough sunlight, no water, no nutrients, or it can be picked and die from no soil nutrients. if u hang it upside down once you pick it it will live longer.
