I am refering to a lawn of grass. While I know each blade of grass cannot live forever, I never see a lawn thining out due to grass simply dying of old age. Most lawns are never allowed to grow tall enough and for long enough to produce new seeds to replenish the lawn. I would be very impressed if anyone can answer this question satisfactorily :)

I need to know as much as possible about starting new fruit trees off parent trees. What kind of cuttings do I use? Root? Hardwood? How old should the tree be? Can I buy a young tree this year and do a cutting the same year? At what time of the year should I do the cutting? I am planning on starting an orchard of sorts on my property, so I want apple, peach, pear, ect. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated, as would any helpful links! Thanks!

Recently I heard a reputed source say that nearly two thirds of comercial honey bee hives have been discovered to be empty . Bee keepers, getting ready to transport their hives to almond groves (in California) found their bee's had vanished!

Is this as disatrous as it sounds?

Bees are the main source if not the main way of pollination in this country so are their any solutions to this mystery?

a. How many genes are involved in the determination of these flower colors? b. Which genotypic combinations produce which phenotypes? Diagram the purple x purple cross.
