Well I guess nothing can life forever but I believe there are certain creatures e.g. turtles, that do not age in a conventional sort of way.

An article I found states:

"Turtles don't really die of old age," Dr. Raxworthy said. In fact, if turtles didn't get eaten, crushed by an automobile or fall prey to a disease, he said, they might just live indefinitely.

Article here:

Are there any other creatures similar to turtles?

Today a lab was done where we counted how many cells were in each phase of mitosis under a microscope. We then used this to determine how long each phase of mitosis took.

My question is: how can the amount of cells in each phase accurately represent how long each phase of mitosis takes? I realize that more cells equals more time, but why??

thanks

I know that scientists say that the human is a mammal, but i am not sure. I was first alerted to this possibility while watching the Matrix 1. Now i know you'll say "It's only a movie!" but just hear me out. I have to agree with what Smith said. Humans have almost the same characteristics as viruses. ALMOST. but i have noticed that throughout history we have always be multiplying and looking for more and more land then fighting over it. Soon all of the natural resources will be gone. Scientists have even speculated about wanting to colonize Mars because they know that we cant stay on the earth. Can you tell me what you think. Is this some odd paranoia or could it be true that we are more closely related to viruses than mammals???

If you assume that the more educated are the "fittest", then it seems like more of the fittest are consciously electing not to pass their genes on. I wonder what this means for the future of mankind, and I wonder how this can be reconciled with Darwin's theory of evolution?

I got a urine sample at 7.45 in the morning and got it tested around 10 the same morning for pregnancy. The sample was stored in quite a clean bottle. The test came out negative. I want to know if that can be relied upon cuz I’ve heard hormones disintegrate if not stored under a particular pH and temperature. So how will I know for sure if the test was truly negative or if the hormones disintegrated by then?
Plz don’t say take another pregnancy test. I want to know the answer to this question.
Thanx for answering!
