I know that scientists say that the human is a mammal, but i am not sure. I was first alerted to this possibility while watching the Matrix 1. Now i know you'll say "It's only a movie!" but just hear me out. I have to agree with what Smith said. Humans have almost the same characteristics as viruses. ALMOST. but i have noticed that throughout history we have always be multiplying and looking for more and more land then fighting over it. Soon all of the natural resources will be gone. Scientists have even speculated about wanting to colonize Mars because they know that we cant stay on the earth. Can you tell me what you think. Is this some odd paranoia or could it be true that we are more closely related to viruses than mammals???

Biologically speaking, humans have almost NONE of the same characteristics as viruses. I could give you an exhaustive list of the characteristics that makes us classified how we are, but that's probably not germane to the point here.

Let's put it this way: pretty much EVERY animal will show the pattern described in the Matrix when they are put in an environment without substantial predators.

Those lemmings that famously go running off cliffs? They only do that when there are so many of them that they're forced to migrate in huge numbers... so much so that they don't even know where they're migrating TO. Just anywhere but where they are!

And then there's the case of those various foreign species that get introduced into Australian ecosystem from time to time. They multiply ridiculously and just brush everything aside until they cause problems that they never did in their native environments.

So in that sense, humans ARE like viruses... and everything else. We don't have any significant predators so we expand and expand until our sheer numbers become a problem. Hopefully where are completely UNLIKE all those other animals in that we may be smart enough to do something about it!
