I remember learning in biology class that if a guy is A- and a girl is A+, it can be difficult to conceive a child because the baby's blood will try to fight the mother's blood. I can't remember exactly what this is called or much else about it. Please give me any information you can on it. Links are helpful! Thanks!

The chromosome number of the pear tree is 68, the quince tree is 34. You will note that 68 = 34 x 2. Does this mean that a pear cell will contain twice the amount of genetic material as a quince tree? Explain?

Okay, I read somewhere that the bunches of circles we see falling are calcium deposits. Is this true?

And what are the black and white things we see, that kind of reminds us of a broken television with white noise?

And what are all the weird colors we see when we close our eyes? Are these things because light leaves impressions in our eyes, and they stay there until our eyes adjust?

And how come when you poke the side of your eye, you see the effect on the opposite side? And what are stars?

I'm taking an online bio class, and we were instructed to write 3 posts on this question. Here's my first:

"It would have to be the egg. However, my answer is more of a technicality than anything else. First of all, we would need to define what constitutes a chicken, since chickens gradually evolved over time from something else. So, we'd need to declare what the first chicken was at some point in the distant past. Since the use of eggs was present in chicken's ancestors, we can be certain that the first chicken did in fact come from an egg, and it's parents would have almost been chickens, but not quite. Be that as it may, our definition of the first chicken would need to be specifically defined, since chickens have changed though the ages, and the first chickens would have been almost identical from their parents, but they would be just barely "chickenish" enough be be considered chickens by modern standards."

Could you help me generate new ideas to discuss on this?

In the first 3 days, the body is still using energy from glucose. After that, the liver starts processing body fat. After 3 weeks the body enters in "starvation mode". At this point the body "mines" the muscles and vital organs for energy. The estimated limit of resistance is 60 days.

my quesion is, where is glucose stored?...in body fat?.............this is what I don't get lol :D

I'm curious as to why humans are the only species that I know of that cries when emotionally upset. I have read that "emotional tears" help relieve stress, but why is it that only humans utilise such a mechanism? Why hasn't it popped up in multiple species if it chemically reduces an individual's stress when utilised properly? Shouldn't it be beneficial enough to move to other species?
