Is there any simplified method of examining the DNA without giving trouble to the highly sphisticated labs? what sort of equipment u need for this purpose?

I found an article ( http://www.rotten.com/library/sideshow/siamese-twins/chimeras/ ) that said that sometimes, when two twin embryos develop, they create siamese twins; and sometimes, the embryos wind up developing pretty much in the same place, so that the siamese twins take the space of a single person. They're called "chimeras" and might go their whole lives without knowing it, although some possible symptoms include having multiple bloodtypes and different-colored eyes.

How true is this? Where can I find more details?

If I see a person with one blue eye and one brown eye, is it likely that this person is actually two people?

The gene I am researching is fibrillian 1 which is found on chromosome 15. I was looking this web site http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?db=gene&cmd=retrieve&dopt=default&list_uids=2200

and it said something like

chromosome: 15; Location: 15q21.1

Someone confronted me with the question if we evolved then who evolved first the male or female and how this worked why do we have male and female? Can someone please explain.
