A female Nasonia is diploid, being from a fertilized egg, so she can be heterozygous.

A male Nasonia is haploid, being from an unfertilized egg, so he cannot be heterozygous. -- only has one allele for each gene.

A male only has one X chromosome, so he can EITHER be big A, OR little a...never both...this is actually called hemizygous.

the structure and make-up of the sex chromosome is specific for sex and the traits of the sex. specific genes do specific functions and those funtions are often sex specific.
