I do not believe that there is anything unethical about the genetic engineering of humans. All I see it as is a way to improve upon ourselves and therefor would it not also improve every other aspect of our lives? Would it not improve our society? And if something can help people by curing hereditary diseases and other genetic conditions, isn’t it unethical to ban or to limit it?

I have heard many things about this, that drinking anything with Yellow 5, like Mountain Dew, makes your penis smaller, I am just wondering if this is true.

Prokaryotes have circular DNA, while the DNA found in Eukaryotes is linear. Eukaryotes are more complex microorganisms and are thought to evolve from Prokaryotes. Why did eukaryotes develop a linear structure and didn't keep the circular DNA of prokaryotes?

By gay, of course, I mean gay in the sense that we usually apply strictly to humans, with a specific sexual attraction to members of the opposite sex within their own species.

I mean sure, we all know dogs aren't too partiuclar and will bump uglies with the nearest convenient chair leg, but does it really make sense to talk about gay animals?

BIOLOGY 1108 EVOLUTION AND POPULATION GENETICS

Variations on the ability to taste PTC have no obvious survival value, and yet there is ethnic variation in allele frequencies between different groups. For instance, 63% of Arabs are tasters for PTC, whereas 63% of native Americans can't taste it. At least one condition of the Hardy-Weinberg Theory was not met respect to the gene in the world populations.

1. How do you think this ethhnic variation came about?

2. How could this variation in allele frequency be associated with survival potential of the ability to detect a bitter taste?

3. Assuming there was no selective advantage for this traitt, what other factor might account for the ethnic differences?

This is my homework. Its not for a grade for right or wrong but for effort and I am having a little trouble with this. Does anyone know about this stuff if so please help me. Even though the grade is for effort I still want to understand it so I'll do good on the test. Thank you

Evolutionists: Would it be ethical and worthwhile to take members of a sexually reproducing species, divide them into two groups, and encourage completely separate traits in each? The goal would be to eventually make them unable to interbreed, fulfilling the requirements for them to be considered distinct species. The caveat is that it would be very expensive, need to be on a massive scale with hundreds or thousands of organisms in each generation, and the traits we select for wouldn't necessarily be beneficial to the organisms.

Creationists: If scientists did this and were completely, unquestionably successful, would you believe in evolution?

Please explicitly indicate whether you're a creationist or evolutionist in your answer.
