Bacteria that normally live in humans can prevent infections and produce substances we need, such as vitamin K. Bacteria in the stomachs of cows and sheep are what enable them to digest grass. Bacteria are also essential to the production of yogurt, cheese, and pickles. Some bacteria cause infections in humans. In fact, they are a devastating cause of human disease.

To start ( this is all I remember), bacteria can reproduce themselves, because they have their own DNA protein chains. virii (viruses, proper Latin form) have to get into the host cell ( the cell fo the animal it infects) to borrow the DNA, using its RNA protein code. So, bacteria self-reproduce, virii use the host to reproduce. This may have something to do with the fact that we can treat bacterial infection with antibiotic, but not a virus. So, the common cold is usually a virus, and we can't kill it. Similarity- each one is tansmitted different ways- some are only through blood, some are only by contact (saliva, skin, touching something the sick person touched) and some are airborne.

A bacteria is a single celled organism that replicates itself through cell division. Most antibiotics hinder these cells' ability to build cell walls and thus replicate
A virus is a much smaller particle that consists of genetic material in a structure. The virus is typically found within a host cell, where is utilizes the cells reproduction system to create multiple copies of itself, killing the host cell.

Bacteria can reproduce on its own. Bacteria is undoubtedly alive. A virus needs a host to inject its DNA into in order to replicate itself. Since a virus cannot reproduce on its own there is some debate as to whether a virus is to be considered "alive" or not.

Bacteria are unicellular organisms with a nucleus and generally complete set of organelles and can live independently in a variety of environments. Viruses do not have a nucleus and rely on the host's cellular reproduction mechanisms to multiply. They generally function by attaching themselves to the wall of a host cell, injecting their RNA into the cell, and instructing the cell's DNA to make copies of the viral RNA, producing more viruses.

bacteria can be fought with and cured with antibiotics but virus stay in your body till your body can fight them off...virus can not be fixed by antibiotics or paralyzed for a while.

Primarily, there are 2 differences
1.) bacteria are living creatures, whilst viruses are "prions"
2.) Bacteria is solely responsable for causing FARTS, whilst viruses are completely unentertaining
