Is it a one way street or is there more than one direction of traffic. Also, If I were to disect a nerve and stimulate the nerve electrically in a lab would I measure the same conduction velocity no matter which way I placed the nerve or would the conduction velocity be different if I reversed the direction I initially placed the nerve?

I know that I am consious, but how does one prove that it is something tangible and real. If it only exists within our brains, how can it exist if we can not prove it and if you could prove it, would it be possible to measure it on some sort of scale. ( I'm not talking about IQ but actual consciousness.)
