He wasn't hurt, it was just the sound it made! I couldn't even sit through class. I'd look up at him and hear that sound. I had to bail. Am I evil?

(In answering this question, I am keeping in mind that he wasn't hurt.)

I would have PAID money to see something like that. I don't think my initial automatic reaction would be to laugh, I'd probably be shocked and run over to see if he was alright . But I'm sure in retrospect, it would be the most hilarious thing in the world to see, simply because it is such a bizarre and frazzled situation for him to be in, a man who is normally viewed as someone who is serious and collected.

When you pointed out that it was the sound that cracks you up, I can't help but imagine my own professor fall flat on his face, the dull thud, and the very thought of that cracks me up in my chair right now.

I think the fact that he wasn't hurt really makes this a really funny situation and I completely understand why you laughed, but I think that "technically", etiquette would state that it was rude and your laughing probably embarrassed him further.

Depends what grade he gives you!

If you couldn't help it, it wasn't wrong. But you might visit him during office hours and ask if he was okay.

I was going to say to apologize, but then he would KNOW why you were laughing. He may not relate the two incidents. Does he even know that you saw him?

It is a normal reaction. Now had he been seriously hurt and you still thought it was funny well that's a different matter.

properly, first i might grab you by utilising the ft and drag you out of site visitors. Then i might duct tape you to a tree to ascertain you probably did no longer fall returned earlier calling the paramedics to %. you up.

No way. Hopefully he laughed too. If you still feel guilty, tell him you feel bad, but it was damn funny and you think he should laugh too. One day he will.
