i was just watching the space shuttle launch and i was just wondering what those things on the boosters or w/e that looked like they were exerting steam before the launch

Gamma Rays are the most destructive force in the universe. They come from one place, not many! Scientists say about 10 billion light years away from us. Something sets them off and when the gamma rays burst, they go in all directions. The gamma ray bursts could very well be violating Einstein's E=MC2. What do you think?

I have a question that i think is very crazy, but i really can't think of how they do it... lol...

Before a space shuttle takes off the space shuttle is straight up and down pointing at the sky. This would cause the seats to have there back parallel to the ground... Correct??? If so how do the astronouts get to their seats??? I know its silly, but i walked by the tv at work earlier and saw the space shuttle that is taking off soon and just thought about that and noone at work knows how.

You still believe in them?
No one doubts that there might be extraterrestrial life, but how can they get here....isn't it impossible?

I don't understand much about "power", etc. I'd like to get him a really good one but one that won't 'break the bank'.

I'll be getting a Christmas Club check (around $1200.00) the beginning of October & wanted to be prepared on where to purchase so I don't have to rush around doing research (which I really don't know much about telescopes anyway, so I don't want to risk getting something cheesy) & then risk it not being in stock or not getting here on time after ordering........

Also, I'm not looking to spend all my Christmas Club money on him, LOL ! I do have a couple of other people to buy for......LOLOL !

Blessings

We all know about the big bang..my question is after the big bang where did all the laws of maths come from after all without maths this universe would not exist..does this in istself not prove that there must be an intelligence behind it..that intelligence called god

I don't believe in the big bang theory. I am interested in what other people believe. So if there was a large explosion that led to collections of matter (planets/stars) - assuming the sun started out just as matter that was not burning ...I wonder how did the sun and other stars first ignite?

It has been proven that the Earth, along with the universe, has, and is, expanding and is much bigger than it was 1000's of years ago. Then it is also proven that it will take longer than 24 hours for the Earth to completely turn in a full day . That means that it would take longer for the Earth to move around the Sun. Which means our days arent 24 hours and our years are longer than 365 days. (Daylight savings and leap years dont cover it....that is done routinely)

There's a lot of both. But what is there more of: grains of sand on Earth, or planets in the galaxy?

Every night, if the weather allows it, I sit outside to enjoy a few beers and alittle bit of grass. A few nights ago I was looking at the stars when one disappeared while I was focused on it. How can this be possible?

then surely planets further out beyond pluto, like really far out, should be more advanced than earth as they have 'technically' been around for a longer time, they could be thousands of years ahead of us, and in a thousand years, this will be earth

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August.

It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate
on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27,2007 12:30 am(IST) . It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

Share this with your friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again. *

Just because life here needs oxygen or carbon dioxide, water, a certain kind of temperature and to eat other living things for food surely doesn't mean that life on other planets requires the same.

What ever the whole of space is called, i dunno if it's the universe or galaxy or w.e. But where does space end, surely it cant go on forever, and if it does end somewhere, whats on the other side?

I know this is a weird question, but I read it somewhere in a book and wanted to know if anyone else wondered or heard this also.

This Big Bang instance is similar to an ejaculation where many sperms try to reach an egg in space to fertilize with, just as many planets are trying to reach a sun to orbit around and to provide life on its planet. Or it could be that hot matter from the big bang, such as stars scatter throughout space and eventually reach a certain spot where they meet with planets that then fall into orbits around the star.

It is similar to the saying that "As Above, So Below" and also shows how the laws of probability work in Nature.

I think it is Mars that I heard could be lived on. But since Mars is probably 35 million miles away from Earth, how long would that take in years for people to actually get there? And isnt it true that people cant survive in space for more than 3 years?
