To those that say the government cant keep anything covered up, tell me..do you know what "black" projects are? Or what they are working on currently?
The F117 Stealth Bomber was kept under wraps for 14 years when finally, in November 1988, the Pentagon publicly revealed a grainy, retouched photo notable mostly for how little it revealed of the F-117.
So can you imagine what they have had under wraps since 1988 that is NOT shown publicly? Not to mention the HUGE black budget that is largely unaccounted for.
These are facts and if your so naive that the most powerful government in the world cant "keep secrets" then your living in a dream world:)

OK, once more

UFOs are not real,
Bigfoot is not real,
The Loch Ness Monster is not real,
Faeries are not real,
Unicorns are not real,
Dragons are not real,
The Tooth Fairy is not real,

They are all created by folks with overactive imaginations and too much time on their hands, most normal people stop believing in them when they grow up.

There was a lot of detail about times and locations, and angles of observation, Numbers were impressive.

But the numbers as to the size of the object were not numbers, but words.

Numbers give credence to things. One can make up survey data and quantify the data, and it's likely to be believed.

The size of the object reported to be observed was from 20 feet in diameter, about the wingspan of a small plane, to 80 feet in diameter... about the size of an airplane hangar. One observer estimated 88 feet.

I have little doubt they might have seen something. And it might have been in the air... hence flying. And, since it is heretofore unidentified, it therefore qualifies as a UFO, or, as they put it, a UAP.

But logic and common sense preclude the belief that it was a visitor from some other planet, universe, etc.

If a race has the technology to travel through space in a small craft... we're talking something that is smaller than some of the large planes we have here on earth that are only comfortable for a few hours...

If they were able to travel vast distances presumably at speeds greater than the speed of light without being damaged by space stuff...

(1) Why would care about us? People on Earth are barely able to walk on their hind legs compared to technology like that. We are no threat to anybody but ourselves. Granted, we're gross polluters, leaving garbage wherever we go, but we're not smart enough to get far from our own dump. So what if we pollute ourselves out of existence. It doesn't affect anybody else in the universe.

(2) With all their technology, why would they allow themselves to be observed? Technical failure? Give me a break. They traveled a billion miles through galaxy, star, planet, asteroid, etc., populated space without a mishap. They made it through our atmosphere without burning up. And they get to Earth, and the fan belt breaks? With all the alleged sightings it's a frequent occurrence.

(3) They're preparing us for our first contact? Why don't they just leave a note? I mean something we can clearly understand. If they don't understand our language, either written or spoken, they're not very quick on the uptake. They've been presumably observing us for decades... and they still don't understand any of our languages?

(4) They're just observing? Come on. Even our scientists know that when you're observing wildlife in their native habitat, you have to either be inconspicuous (undetected), or accepted as part of the local flora and fauna. The former requires the observer to be undetectable to whatever is being observed. Well, they've apparently failed there. The other requires the observer to become familiar to whatever is being observed. Well they've failed there too.

(5) They're preparing to take over the planet. Whatever for? We've stripped the planet of its resources. We've destroyed its air and water. And, if they a few more years, we'll probably have killed ourselves off over some nonsensical ideology, thereby making "conquest" unnecessary.

(6) Finally, if these beings, with all their technology, and intellect exist, and if they could reach Earth, and having observed us for some time, and are aware of our propensity towards violence, do you really think there is any way they would allow us access to their technology? Do you think they want a belligerent, ignorant, underdeveloped, species such as we are, access to the the technology that would allow us to venture out among them? If I were observing Earth and my spacecraft were damaged, I'd totally obliterate it and myself with it... surely I have that technology too. More than likely I'd also have the ability to protect the universe from the likes of humans in some manner.

Ok, all that notwithstanding, is the "Government" covering it up?

We are not all that socially advanced. If the word were to leak out that there were extraterrestrials among us what would we do? Hysteria in which mobs would form to clear the Earth of these invaders? Hysteria in which we'd attack our governments (every country would do the same thing because no government has come out and said, "They're here,")? Hysteria that would result in destruction and looting and violence? If the governments of the world are keeping the knowledge from the people, they are wise. Yes governmentS. Do you really think the US is the only country in the world in which beings might be interested... the only place on the planet where they might have crashed? Do you still think the the Earth is the center of the universe?

Why do we need to know? What good will it do us? If they're here, there's nothing we can do about it. If they're not here, there's nothing we can do about that either. It doesn't make any difference if they have a colony in Roswell, or in Area 51, or in San Francisco. If they were mean and wanted me dead, I'd be dead. Since they don't seem to be bothering anybody, what's the big deal?

Multiple agencies of government have revealed their involvement in various UFO cover-ups associated with need for secrecy during cold war and other good reasons.

I was pretty impressed with what the CIA had to say about the intelligence community's involvement in Roswell. It made perfect sense to me.

Of course the conspiracy theorists will refuse to believe the truth and be in perpetual denial that they now have all the info the government ever had.

There is no UFO cover up.

There will be no disclosure because there is nothing to disclose.

The government is keeping lots of secrets, mostly military, but none of them have anything to do with aliens or alien space craft.

Aliens are not visiting Earth, although there are probably aliens somewhere in space far from Earth. We just haven't met any and they have not come to Earth.

UFOs are not alien space craft, they are just ordinary things, or possibly unusual things that are not alien space craft, that people see without getting a good and careful look and their imagination, or possibly their mentally unbalanced mind, fills in all kinds of false details for them.

Ditto what Serena said.

Neither of us is saying that there is no life outside of Earth. It's just inconceivable that they could have ever found us, let alone crossed the expanses of interstellar (intergalactic even) space to get here.

Furthermore, the chances of aliens even remotely resembling us, as most UFO credulists seem to think, are vanishingly small.

I would be utterly shocked that the government managed to keep a secret so long. Seriously, when was the last time there was ever a successful coverup? For that reason alone, we can prove the non-existance of UFOs.

Sorry but I can't disclose what my reaction will be.

Why don't you tell us what you've heard and explain why you presented case #18 from the ufo case book.
