I am told that space is a near vacuum so, why isn't the atmosphere just sucked out into nothingness? Please don't tell me it's gravity because I know that if you induce a vaccuum here on earth and then expose it to the air, air will rush to fill the void. Therefore, it would seem that gravity has no affect.

If you say ..as the speed of an object reaches the speed of light.... its mass increases infinitely... I will say ...we have been told that the mass of an object is constant wherever you take it? so what is the problem here? why sudden increase in mass...infinitely? doesnt this ideas contradict...or enlighten me with something...because I am curious.

I have been reading about a polar shift of 45 degrees because of the planets alignment with the sun in 2012.This only happens every 25,000 yr. or so. Also this date is the end of the Mayan calendar,and the return of planet x crossing our path in the solar system. To me it seems the way the world is going everything in life is at full circle. And the world is way over due for some type of renewal threw a natural cataclysmic event !

I was wondering if it is possible to use some type of craft to fire into orbit and then angle down to a place like Europe? I know the shuttle can reach orbit in like 8 minutes and up there it doesn't take much to travel at a high rate of speed. Of course, it would be expensive but couldn't we have some type of craft that just did this and then we could travel all over the world really fast???

Hi there,

I've seen some companies selling lunar deeds. Ie. you can own 1 acre of the moon for a low price. Is this for real? Can a person really be entitled to an Acre of the moon? Who bought / owns the moon to begin with?

If it is for real, what are reputable companies to buy from?

my question is, stars, if all we see is the light that is produced by the stars and well some stars are 100's of light years away, how do we know what we are looking at is really there? if it takes 100's of light years for that light to reach us, won't we in fact be looking at the past of that star, how do we know that that star is even there anymore? serious question, help...
