About 19 years ago i was stood at my back door which backed onto open fields.when i saw what can only be described as an air show.it was around 6 evening ,i think november so it was dark .and it was like watching a fire work display but i know it wasnt. one large v shaped object hovered slowly over the top of my house toward the feild beyond and just stopped in its tracks
,then this was repeated moments later by another so i could see 2 in the distant sky. the air felt very still and quite warm, and usually their were dogs barking in the back ground but it was eerily quiet. After a few minutes of trying to take all this in, tiny( in comparison to the v objects)sphere shaped lights appeared from nowere (no hills or roof tops to spoil veiw )and were darting atspeed towards the v objects and either dissapeared behind them maybe entering them.Within seconds the Vs sped off up and disappeared.I was in a state of disbelief but i no what i saw.Their was news on tv about sightings in area.

Has anyone ever figured out, exactly, what quasars are? Are they just galaxies with highly energetic radio jets in their cores, or are they something entirely different? Also, where can I find a book on active galactic nuclei that's written for lay persons, not astrophysics majors?

I have thought about just taking a picture with my digital camera of easily visible star constellations on the nights that are clear.
Does anybody know if this will work?

I see this star formation (above) directly above me in the night sky every night around 8 pm.
It is only a vague recollection, but can you guess the constellation it might be?
