according to the laws of space because there is no air if you were to push somethignit woudl neer stop until it hit something, yet we are told that spaceships cannot do a lifelong journey or go to far because the lack of fuel. This makes no sense wouldnt the ship just need an initial burst for each direction it wished to travel?

always been curious. Conspiracy show I watched on FOX like 7 years ago said it was impossible (not that I believe in such things). So why?

Mars will come the closest to the earth in 73,000 years it will be as big as the moon. If the moon has effects on the tides, what's going to happen when we have two celestial bodies acting on the earth through gravitational pull. I would think there could be alot of natural disasters happen, tidal, volcanic, could even effect the magnetic poles.

Apophis...In Egyptian myth, Apophis was an ancient spirit of evil and destruction, a demon that was determined to plunge the world into eternal darkness.
A quite fitting name, for this large asteroid that is now hurtling through space potentially on a head on collision with our little blue green planet.
Scientists are watching the progress of the 309 meter asteroid that was discovered last year.
NASA estimates that an impact from Apophis would release 100,000 times the energy that was released in the nuclear blast over Hiroshima.

Do you think that Apophis is a serious threat? What do you think about the claims that Apophis is the asteriod that will possibly wipe us out?

I hear lots of theories like our Universe is approximatly 12 billion years old and that it at all started with THE BOMB known as the big bang, more to that they say this Universe could in the end envelope back again and shrink back into an infinitismally small point in space and then explode again, OR if theres not enough matter in the Universe then it will simply keep on "expanding" to the limitless beyond, now heres the real question, if the universe is in fact expanding, and say the "universe" is all there is, all that can exist, doesnt it occur to you in a strange thought that what lies beyond the i guess the expanding "egde" of the Universe itself? its like imagining a balloon expanding in empty space, is the empty space around it just "nothing"? or am i not understanding the real concept quite right? its an open question, plz feel free to state whatever you want, whether its theoretical facts or ur own personal beliefs, thanks.

I heard that you could find out what latitude you're at if you measure the distance between the horizon and the pole star. So, I'm at the North Pole and therefore I would heave to measure between the north horizon and Polaris.

Now, how do I do that?

when you go into space,
and you head for the moon,
why doesn't the earth just fly away from you.
I believe it moves at 30 km/s. right?
and your not in an orbit?
so why doesn't it just fly away?

WHAT'S OUT THERE? If you could travel all the way beyond pluto, what would you find? how far does it go on? There can never be an end because if there was some kind of wall at the end, what's behind it? There must be thousands even millions of other solar systems just like ours out there somewhere and they are probably people living on other planets going about their daily business thinking the same thing that I am right now. This has been puzzling me for many years, and what confuses and wrecks with my head even more is the fact that I will never find out the truth. Does anyone have any opinions or ideas on this for me please, i'd be happy to here them. Dom
