Of course not! The universe is a big place, and somewhere, there is some kind of bacteria floating around in space. So, we're not alone in the universe.

We human beings yet do not know we are alone or not.

Whether universe is infinite or finite one thing is sure at the minimum it is extremely huge.

With either infinite number or huge number of star systems it is difficult to imagine that we are alone.

But we don’t know, means we don’t know. In science there only facts and evidences. Speculations are only speculations. Until we find some living stuff on other planets we don’t know they exist or not.

Life is different from intelligent life. Intelligent life is different from super smart or extremely intelligent life like human beings. Elephants, dolphins, dogs etc ate intelligent too. But they are too inferior to we human beings.

First whether any life exists out side earth? If exists next question will be are they intelligent/ extremely intelligent etc?

Formation of life requires special chemical and physical ingredients. It requires right temperature, humidity, atmosphere, water etc. Once all requirements are met then “something” unique happens. Very unique and we know nothing about this process. Something gives life to a non living structure. So the life starts.

Life most likely will start as unicellular in all places in the universe. Simply because it is so complex issue.

If atmosphere is conducive then multicellular life forms. Then it progresses with evolution.

Where does evolution stop once again will depend upon the environmental factors. If everything is conducive then animals, human beings like life will result.

With so many planets in the universe it is really difficult to imagine that we are alone.

I feel simple life like unicellular life must be plenty out side earth. More complex life will be obviously less frequent. Human being like life will be definitely less frequent.

Of course we do not know. But I personally like many other human beings strongly feel that life exists out side earth, also super intelligent creatures also exist. In all grades of IQ. Equal to us, less than us, more than us.

One day we might prove that we are not alone. But I doubt we will ever contact them personally/ directly because the distance is so huge that no scientific advance may be enough to travel and reach where they exist.
Sorry we human beings definitely have lot of limitations. Some are absolute. Nothing we can do about it. Travel to another galaxy is impossible to human beings at any time in the future.

Even if life exists in our own milky way still I doubt it exists in near by stars like centauries. If life is there then we definitely have some hopes to encounter them.

Otherwise all we can do is hope for receiving their message, which may be the highest accomplishment in this regard. Receive a message which was sent hundreds or thousands or more years ago, then send something which they will receive years years later ( provided life survives on either side without natural calamities etc ).

The micro cells that travel around in the universe. Some bacteria can survive the harshness of space and hibernate for billions of years until they find suitable environment to adopt to.

If these micro cells did not originate from earth, it should originate from another planet similar to eart. i.e. a planet which houses living beings what ever form it is in.

So there should be other planets and solar systems with life, though we don't know as to in what stage of evolutionary process they are in.
