Hello and thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I have been wondering, in school we learned about the Kelvin scale right? Well they never taught me what type of temperature it measured. I mean, I know the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales measure climatic, industrial, and medical purposes but what about the Kelvin scale? What was the Kelvin scale used for, what type of temperature measurment. If you could answer that would be great!

Cats always land on their feet. Toast always lands buttered side down. So if I strap a slice of toast butter side up onto a cats back, I will have created an anti gravity device, correct?

Hold onto your hat, science. I'm about to blow your f*****g mind.

Here's the full question:

If you are on the far side of the moon you are farther away from the earth than if you are on the near side. a.) What is the difference in your true weight between standing at the nearest and farthest surface positions on the moon relative to the center of the earth?

Well I think that you need to use Fg=(Gm1m2)/r^2
but what do you do with that? Perhaps add the force of gravity of the moon and the earth together? I'm not sure what to do. Thanks for the help.

Apparently the asteriod 99942 Apophis will come very close to the Earth on Friday 13th April 2029. If they have got their calculations correct it is supposed to miss us.

If they find out that they haven't, do you think anyone will bother to try and stop a catastrophic impact, or do you think they will leave it because its too expensive?

If a car speeding at 100mph on a highway crashes into the rear end of a car traveling at 60mph, would the impact be the same (or greater) as a car at 40 crashing into a stationary car? What does physics have to say about the difference? Thanks to all in advance for indulging me.

Suppsoe that a, b, c are sides of of a triangle. Prove that:
a^2(b + c - a) + b^2(c + a - b) + c^2(a + b - c) <= 3abc

I can't seem to do this! I've tried using algebra and triangle inequality rules. Should I use trignometry?!?!

Please provide me with work and an answer.

Thanks! Merry Christmas.
