Use Ohm's Law to find the amount of current that would flow in a circuit that contains a 10 (V) source and a 4 k resistor.

a) Do the terms in Ohm's Law need to be manipulated to solve the problem? Explain.

b) In your opinion, would it be simpler to manipulate Ohm's Law to solve for the unknown variable and then insert the given values, or to insert the given values and the manipulate the equation to solve for the unknown? Explain.

c)Find the amount of current flow that would be generated by the given voltage source.

The quadratic function (f) is defined by f(x) = x^2 + 8x +13

1)express f(x) in the form (x+p)^2 +q where p and q are integers

2)what is the least value for f(x) and the value of x for which this least value occurs

3)find an expression for f(x-3) in the form ax^2 +bx+c, where a,b and c are integers

Have a few I just wanted to check on:

1) Potassium Sulfate contains 44.9% potassium by mass. In a 50.0g sample of potassium sulfate, the # of moles of potassium is:
A)0.287mol B)1.28mol C)1.74mol D).574mol E)2.00mol
My answer : D but think I might have divide by 2 one more time?

2) Detonation of nitroglycerian proceeds as follows:

4(C3H5O9N3)----
---->6N2+O2+10H2O

How many grams of water vapor are formed from the combustion of 5.953g of nitroglycerian?

My answer(s): 1st answer is 1.18g, second is 0.3868

People say that DNA testing has proven the Book of Mormon to be false, because it shows that the Native American Indians are not descended from the Jews. But, wouldn't you need the DNA of the people who you are comparing DNA with? For example, to know if today's Native American Indians are descended from the Lamanites, you would need the DNA of the Lamanites from the end of the Book of Mormon. And even then, nothing will be conclusive, since many centuries have passed and DNA gets "diluted" or "evolved" or whatever.

Let f(x)=

x^2 if x≤-1
A|x|-1 if -1 x^3-Bx+1 if x ≥1

1. Assume that A=B=1. Where does f(x) fail to be continuous?
2. For which values of A and B is f(x) everywhere continuous?
3. With A and B found in (2), where does f(x) fail to be differentiable?

Can someone explain how to do this? Thanks.

If there were to be an explosion in space, given that space is a vaccum and oxygen is absent, what would happen? I have been pondering this for some time and think that assuming it were a rocket there would be an explosion and everything would move outwards symetrically and in the same direction the orginal object were moving. If there were no oxygen and a fuel was some how set alight what would happen? I have a vision of a space station in flames.?!

My molecular biology of the cell book says that genomes have evolved through mistakes and accidents. With DNA polymerase having a high fidelity (I believe one mistake in 20,000 base pairs), how do you explain evolution from a common ancestor (I.e. an ape-like creature)? Is this the best it gets? Accidents and mistakes in DNA replication and DNA repair have created intelligent human beings. How so?
