incandescent lightbulbs use a lot more energy than flourescent. and they also release energy in the form of heat rather than light. flourescents use less energy and does the same work. its energy is put into light, than heat. flourescent costs a bit more than incandescent, but it saves a lot of electricity and money! let's turn the world into incandescent-free!

Even Flourescent lights are less than 50% efficient. LEDs are the way to go. For now -- something even better will probably come along soon.
