Use the integral test to determine whether the series is convergent or divergent:

1) summation notation symbol (with n=1 on bottom and infinity on top) of 1/ 4th square root of n

2) summation notation symbol (with n=1 on bottom and infinity on top) of 1/n^4

Why is it papers print whatever crap they like and the public (most of them) believe it?

This latest milk scandal is really annoying me. The supermarkets and processing units have found to be allegedley overcharging the public at least 20p per litre. Great, about time they were stopped.

But what really pissed me off is that the newspapers then went on to say so are the farmers!!!! - they state that it costs the farmer, 4p per litre to produce milk and we sell it for 14p - does it hell, it costs between 12 - 15p per litre !!! and that is truthfully - we are lucky as we are on a good contract and can achieve around 19 - 22p per litre - which keeps us afloat!!!

Rant over, thankyou!!

Sketch the region and find its area (if the area is finite)

S = { (x,y) / x > or equal to -2, 0 < or equal to y < or equal to e^(-x/2) }

Use the Comparison Theorem to determine whether the integral is divergent or convergent.

integral from 1 to infinity of (x/ sqrt (1 + x^6) dx

Find the values of "x" for which the series converges. Find the sum of the series for those values of "x".

1) summation notation symbol (with n=1 on bottom and infinity on top) of x^n/3^n

2) summation notation symbol (with n=0 on bottom and infinity on top) of cos^nx/2^n

Let us think about that for a minute or so. It must have taken a lot energy for that to have happenned. this is really more than one question. what made everything come together? why didn't the particules continue going far apart. If gravity was strong enough to stop it than won't it been strong enough to stop it before it even got started?

I know that the more current that flows the hotter something will get, but a loose connection would generate more resistance thus limiting current flow. So why would a loose connection generate heat if there is now less current flowing?

I'm just starting Physics this year. We have a lab where we collected data of a falling object.

Here is my graph of displacement vs time squared.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y182/luvlaws/graph.gif?t=1190494426 (Ignore the black 'best fit' line).

I'm trying to figure out "what the shape of the graph indicates" and "the significance of the slope of the graph".

I've never come across a graph with time squared before.

My answer is that the falling object accelerates downwards until it hits the velocity -9.8 m/s (gravity)? So the curve in the beginning is the acceleration; the rest of the graph is more straight, meaning constant velocity as the object falls?

Is this right?
Thanks a ton if you can help.

Let's say that I observe Jupiter's moons through a telescope 3 nights in a row. After each viewing I sketch what I saw. What I have is Jupiter and four other dots plotted on a piece of paper for every night. Is there any way to tell which dot on my first sketch is the same dot on my second and third sketch?
I'm trying to determine the orbital periods of the moons, WITHOUT any aids. Of course, I COULD just look up the positions of the moons on the internet, but let's assume this is not an option.
