We had to look through a thin two inch by two inch "cobalt blue glass" to see the color of the element flame. But, I don't know what the piece of "glass" is supposed to do. I think it has something to do with wave frequency and length?

My friends and I were having a discussion about this and we couldn't come to an agreement: which will generally stop shorter from a given speed in average weather conditions - a semi or a car?

Obviously, the tractor-trailer weighs much more, meaning more force would be required to stop it... but also meaning the frictional force exerted on the road would be higher.

I know the answer depends largely on how the semi is loaded and such, but just assume everything to be average.

If possible, citing sources would be great. Thanks!

I posted a question before asking about how to find genotype percentages and phenotype percentages and I did get much detail, but not quite the answer I needed.

This time I'll try to be more specific and ask for what I want.

Given pea plants such that the pea color yellow is dominant and the green color is recessive, the pea shape round as dominant and pea shape wrinkled as recessive, the pea color use C for dominant and c for recessive, S for dominant for pea shape and s for recessive.

If I asked for the genotype percentages and the phenotype percentages of the offspring of CcssXCCSS, how would I calculate it Mathetically?

A goat is grazing in a circular field with a rope attached to it of length r. The goat is free to eat all the grass as it moves around in the circular field and the area of the field is obviously pi.r^2.
Question - How long is another piece of the rope if it is now fixed to a point on the circumference of the circle and the goat can now only eat 50% of the grass in the original circle.

Are they talking about the RBCs or the cells that make up the white/gray matter or are they talking about cells that make up a neuron?

In a vase, there are 2 red balls, 4 blue balls and a red ball. You have to pick 3 balls without replacement. How many blue balls do you expect to remove?

P.S.:- please provide method too, not just the answer...

Ok so theres a boeing 747 on a giant treadmill belt thats programmed to spin at the same speed as the wheels on the plane. If the plane reaches enough speed, can it take off?

I want to see who can figure this out, first one with the right answer gets "best answer." GO!

When I lived in Virginia, my first apartment seemed to be not quite infested but housed these really gross looking millipedes, but I don't think that's what they were. Recently was visiting a relative in Virginia and I saw one of these same bugs at her house. I'm going to do my best to describe it, it has a long segmented body like a centipede or millipede and had what seemed like hundreds of legs that were really really long, kind of like the legs daddy long leg spiders have, and it was mostly this mottled green brown color. I've seen little ones of these and I've seen monster big ones. Does it have a name?

1) Prove the identities for sin(u+v) and cos(u+v) . By using Euler identities.

2) To prove the identities for sin(u-v) and cos(u-v), start with e^i(u-v)= e^iu e^-iv and repeat.

3) (Euler identities)

e^ix = cos(x) + i sin(x) = cis(x)
e^-ix= cos(x) -i sin (x) = cis(-x)

a) Use the fact that cos (x) and sin(x) are periodic with a period of 2 pie. Recall that a fuction f (x) is periodic w/ period T if f(x + T) = f(x). The exponential form of a complex number can thus b defined as z=re^10 , where r and 0 are the modulus and argument of z, respectively.

b) Treat the Euler identities as a 2 times 2 system of linear equations in sin (x) and cos (x) and solve the system. That is, find sin (x) and cos (x) in terms of e^ix and e^-ix. Verify that these representations of sine and cosine are purely real by taking their complex conjugates.

Well i was listening to a song called Moonburn today, and it made me wonder...can you get burned by moonlight like you can with sunlight? It's pretty logical...since the moon is reflecting the sun's light, wouldn't it also reflect the radiation? The only thing that I'm not to sure about, is that the moon doesn't reflect a lot of light, so it would take a full-moon and a couple hours of exposure to affect your skin...but is it possible?
