Well i was listening to a song called Moonburn today, and it made me wonder...can you get burned by moonlight like you can with sunlight? It's pretty logical...since the moon is reflecting the sun's light, wouldn't it also reflect the radiation? The only thing that I'm not to sure about, is that the moon doesn't reflect a lot of light, so it would take a full-moon and a couple hours of exposure to affect your skin...but is it possible?

No. The moon absorbs most of the radiation, and what little it reflects would be deflected by the ozone layer.

Nope. Virtually ALL of the dangerous elements of the Sun's rays- are absorbed by the moon. The reflected light we get BACK is just a very POOR excuse as such (It's NOTHING like the Sun shining off of a mirror). The fact that you can look DIRECTLY AT the Full Moon- bears this out. You would NEVER look at the Sun's reflection in a mirror.

The moon receieves a tiny fraction of the sun's energy - about one twohundred-thousands. Most of that would be absorbed by the moon itself.

Heck, you couldn't get sunburn from the sun when it first rises, yet the radiation reaching you from the dawn sun is thousands of times what you get from a full moon overhead.

Try sunbathing at night by a candle 50 meters away.
