I am doing an undergraduate mathematics research project. It is concerned with Markov Chains. I have searched the internet for a rather large problem perhaps a 10x10. It can be in chemistry, business, or any other discipline. If anyone knows of link or a problem, I would appreciate it.

I have an assignment do monday, and I need these three questions answered.

1)Solve sqrt(1-x) +2x + I x-1 I = 5/4

2)An arithmetic and geometric sequence share the first term of 4 and have the same second term. If the thrid term of the geometric sequence is one more than the third term of the arithmetic sequence, find these sequences.

3)Find all degree values of theta: (cos:theta + isin:theta)^5 = -sqrt(3)/2 + 1/2i

Ok, so I'm doing a reseach project for biology. I'm studying UV rays and using color changing beads to test how they react to different colored lights by seeing what color they change to. I tested the beads under the light and I placed the beads on a bed of aluminum foil, thinking it would speed up the process, How long does it take for the beads to change color, and how can I speed up the process?
