I find it hard to understand how it (the universe as we know it) could have just 'happened'. How did time and matter just start? And according to red shift the universe is expanding- what is it expanding into? Is it ging in a great big circle?

vessel A was filled with enough air at 25 degree C to give a pressure of 50.0 torr. Vessel A has a volume of 675 ml. Vessel X, of Unknown volume, was connected to vessel A with a stopcock. Vessel X was empty initially (air had been evacuated), so its initial pressure was zero. The stopcock was opened allowing the air to expand at a constant temp and occupy both vessels. The final pressure for the entire system was 16.0 torr. What is the volume of vessel X? Please explain how you got an answer. thanks

A draw bridge over a river has two horizontal halves that raise when needed. In the raised position, each section is 40 degrees to the horizon. A car driver gets to the bridge in the open position. Wanting to clear the gap, the driver guns the car and leaves the ramp at 36 m/s. I figured out that the driver does clear the gap, but I also have to figure out where the driver lands on the other section of the ramp (cant seem to get it).

Thanks in advance.

In my bio class, we put an egg in vinegar, and another in a little vinegar and a LOT of corn syrup. The egg in corn syrup decreased in masss, and osmosis occured. Since it decreased in mass, we know that the corn syrup was a hypertonic solution. I have to write a paper on the second egg, and what all occured while it was decreasing in mass. I'M LOST! Can someone help?
