x/x-1+1=1/x-1

I solved this I think but having trouble seeing if it works. Here is what I have:

X/X-1+1=1/X-1
MULTIP BY THE LCD (x-1)
(x-1)(x/x-1)+1(x-1)=(x-1)(1/x-1)
x+1(x-1)=1
x-1x=1
x=1

to check I used 1 in place of x
1/1-1+1=1/1-1

is this correct or is there no solution?

cos(beta) = -sqrt 2 / sqrt 3, pi/2 < beta < pi therefore making it lie in quadrant 2.

cos(beta/2)= +/- sqrt (1 + cos(beta)) / (2)

i know i have to plug in the numbers and find a common denominator, in the end i got...

sqrt (sqrt 3 + - sqrt 2) / (2 sqrt 3)

but how do find out if it's suppose to be a positive or negative answer? thanks for the help.

How would you know based on the information?

Also, Sulfur-48 has 48 protons and 16 electrons. How would you calculate the number of neutrons based on that?

Any help would be much appreciated.

2x^2 - 9y^2 = 17
2(3y + 4)^2 - 9y^2 = 17
9y^2 + 48y + 15 = 0
3y^2 + 16y + 5 = 0
3y^2 + 15y + y + 5 = 0
3y(y +5) + 1(y + 5) = 0
(y + 5)(3y + 1) = 0
y = -5 and y = -1/3

x = 3y + 4
y = -5, x = - 11
y = -1/3, x = 3
The answer is correct, i just have to figure out the workings

Doctors only pls....career questions?
I am pursuing a career as as doctor, and am currently in the interview/acceptance phase of medical school application.

I need some help and guidance in my decision, and have several questions I would like to ask about the process of becoming a doctor:

1. What school did you attend, and what is your field of medicine? What was your undergrad degree in?

2. How far in debt were you after med school, and how long did it take to pay off your student loans?

3. How long did it take for you to go through med school and finish residency? How old were you?

4. Was it worth the time/money spent to pursue the career, and is there anything you would do differently if you had it to do over again?

5. In your opinion, does it really matter all that much which med school you get your degree from??

That's all I have for now. Thanks in advance for your answers!
