Here it is: 3 squirrels gather a pile of nuts and decide to store the pile outside their house overnight. During the night, 1 of the squirrels wakes up hungry and decides to steal 1/3 of the pile but he has to eat one in order to be able to take exactly 1/3. He leaves 2/3 of the nuts behind and goes back to bed. Exactly the same thing happens to the 2nd squirrel, who wakes up, eats 1 of the nuts, steals exactly 1/3 of the pile that's left, and goes back to bed. Then precisely the same thing happens to the third squirrel. She eats 1 nut, hides away 1/3 of the remaining nuts, and goes back to bed. In the morning, the 3 squirrels awake and divvy up the pile which is not empty. It divides exactly into three.
What is the amount of nuts that was in the original pile?

You are boating on a river that flows toward the east. Because of your knowledge of physics, you head your boat 53 degrees west of north and have a velocity of 6.0 m/s due north relative to the shore.

a. What is the velocity of the current?

b. What is the speed of your boat relative to the water?

Please help me with this problem.
I'm having trouble understanding it.

I asked this question once before, but the answer I received was not helpful.

Hi,

I am looking for a source of tiny (e.g. 2mm x 1mm x 1mm) surface mount
leds that blink.

I know that circuits can be constructed for this purpose but I assume
that if you can buy larger bulb type leds that flash that the work may
already have been done and miniaturized for a surface mount product.

The flash length and dwell time is not really important to the purpose.

Thanks for any leads :)

Actually there's 2.

1) The distance between a number and 7 on a number line is less than 5. Write and solve an absolute value inequality to represent this statement.

2) A bearing for a new sports car must be manufactured within 0.001 mm of its circumference of 2.35 mm. Write and solve an absolute value inequality to describe the largest and the smallest possible circumference for the bearing.

WOW does ANY1 understand this??
