Just that stuff that squashes between your toes on a rainy day out by the swamp.

I have seen stuff crawling around and the next day they are in front of the welfare office, looking for a hand out.

I think your hypothesis is starting wrong. You need to find out where did the energy first come from. In order to answer your question, I think it is spontaneous generation.
