any form of help is appreciated!
note: i dont know how to make matrices on computer so each of these is a 2 by 2 matrix...just in one set of brackets. numbers before comma are top row, after comma are bottom row

1. Consider matrix M= [2 0 , 0 2] calculate M^n for n= 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 20, 50. Describe in workds any pattern observed. use pattern to find general expression for matrix M^n in terms of n

2. Consider matrices P=[3 1, 1 3] and S= [4 2, 2 4]
P^2=[3 1, 1 3]^2 =[10 6, 6 10] = 2[5 3, 3 5] ; S^2= same type of thing as P
Calculate P^n and S^n for other values of n and describe any observed patterns

3. Consider [k+1 k-1, k-1 k+1]
steps 1 and 2 contain examples of these matrices for k=1, 2, and 3. consider other values of k and describe any patterns you observe. generalize these results in terms of k and n

4. use technology to investigate what happens when further values of k & n. state scope of limitations of k and n

5.explain why your results hold true in general

mmk i have to make a lil dichotomous key for biology.. with beetles. Its an EC assignment and i have no idea what im doing. Could anyone possible help out? All i have is a picture of the beetles i have to make the key with. I scanned it from the book and here are the beetles:

http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m112/clanstuff/beeetles.jpg

Doesnt need to be long unless thats what you want, and no big words that i , a 14 yr old, wouldnt say lol. Like the first branch off could be round, or oval or something. Im just confused on what to do and how to divide characteristics and get all the beetles in there.

I am in the process of doing a project for a science fair exhabition and I'm interested in finding out as part of my project how I might be able the make a simple bar-magnet levitate through a series of magnetically charged coils (electromagnetic of course). Basically I'm trying to find out info about the circutes I might need and also the find out about the meterials I might need. I would be grateful if you could give me any info at all, even if you have info about URL's I might be able to go to on this subject. Thank for your help.

SUBJECT=Calories

In the experiment i will burn foods such as peanuts and marsmellows and use a calorimeter to determine the calories in each of them.

i still don't know how to make a hypothesis.
((i was thinking about figuring out saying that the more sugar in a substance, the more calories there are, but i don't know how to calculate the amount of sugar in a substance without reading the label))
