Try this for size:

22 / (2-2) = infinity

There's actually no upper limit on the value of an expression using only four 2s, as I can also do the following:

2222!!!!!!!!!!......

where ! is factorial, applied repeatedly. That will certainly get you an extremely large number impossible to even write down anywhere.

Addendum: If factorials are not allowed, then the following will get you a higher value than 2^222:

2^2^22

Since 2^22 is much larger than 222

The highest number that you can get is 2222!!!!!!!!..infinite amount of factorial symbols can be used..but of course if you're not allowed to use mathematical notations, the highest number you can get is 2 to the power of 222 or 2^222.
