(x+5)/[(x+5)(x-6)] times (x+6)(x-6)/(x+6), everything cancels, so the answer is indeed 1.

(x+3)(x-2)/(x+3) = x-2

(x-6)(x+2)/(x+2)(x+3) = (x-6)/(x+3)

hour/5 miles x 60 min/mile = 12 min/mile, yes.
