JUST ONLY BALANCE THESE::
11) BaCl2 + H2SO4 >>> BaSO + HCL
12) P + O >>> P4 O10
13) KClO3 >>> KCL + O2

There are 10 fraternity brothers at a shooting gallery at the state fair. Each brother is a perfect shot. Ten cardboard ducks appear simultaneously, and each shooter picks one of the ten ducks at random and hits his target. We will assume that they are allowed only one shot.

Simulate this experiment using a table or random numbers. Explain what will constitute a repetition.

I was thinking of labelling the ducks 0 to 9 and then picking a line from the Table of Random Numbers and using 10 digits and whichever numbers aren't present are the ducks that were not shot at. Is this right?

I have a B.S in physics but have never studied any math outside the usual calculus & differential equations core. For years I've thought it would be nice to know some topology. Mainly I'm wondering if the ideas in topology can be applied to some stuff I'm interested in.

Today I picked up a topology text in a bookstore and flipped through it. The introduction says there aren't any formal prerequisites for the subject, but it looks scary because a lot of the notation is unfamiliar. I could see it taking me years to decipher it.

So my questions are: how learnable is it, what's a good text, and is there a good informal monograph that covers the major concepts?
