I love them. Actually, I wanted to travel to Greenland when I get older to study them. Half the people at school I tell that to look at me with a confused face. Hey, you people that don't know what a narwhal is! Give up? It's a whale-like creature that lives in icy waters. They're rare and going extinct! They're beautiful, white, and have horns on their heads. (Actually a tusk) Very magestic, fairytale-like, but actually real. Anyone want to add anything or maybe correct me if something seems wrong? Go do some research on these magnificent creatures! Ha marine biology's FUN

Tom, Dick, and Harry weigh 50, 85, and 120 lbs. respectively and use a 12 ft. plank for a teeterboard. Tom sits 5 ft., Dick sits 4 ft., and Harry sits 3 ft. from the fulcrum on the same side. The fulcrum is at the midpoint of the board.
How far must a 200-pound friend sit from the fulcrum to balance them?

The 200-lb. friend must sit (??) ft. from the fulcrum.

Here's a diagram, BUT use 591 lb for the weight (NOT 500 lb):
http://www.webassign.net/sf/p9_24.gif

Piston 1 has a diameter of 0.25 in. and is attached to a lever arm a distance of 2 in from the pivot point. Piston 2 has a diameter of 1.4 in. An external force F acts on the lever arm at a distance 10 in from piston 1 as shown in the diagram. Assume the height difference between piston 1 and piston 2 is negligible. In the absence of friction, find the force F necessary to support the 591 lb weight (in units of lb.)

I'm told that paint finishes on SS do not last. Anodizing is too expensive for my application and I don't want to get into chromated steels or aluminum.

Need to start search on which materials (metallic alloys, but not necessarily restricted to metallic alloys) combine the property of good electrical but low thermal conductivity. For example, Stainless steel is better than Copper in this respect.

Is it a change in your pores/skin, or simply the external effect of evaporation? What's the scientific explanation?

What do you think? Thoughtful answers appreciated.
