Central America belongs to North America, because the countries that compose it are in the northern hemisphere.

That's my conclusion, although, when I was at school, I learned that there were 5 continents: America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania, and America was divided in three: North America, South America, and Central America. So that will mean that Central America belongs to America. But that was like 10 years ago, so maybe things have changed since then.

When you see a map of the American continent you'll often find that from Canada down to the southern tip of Argentina/Chile goes the continent.
It is a huge area that comprises 37 countries and many more territories or colonies.
But the part that is defined as Central America is the central region of the continent. It is variably defined as being the portion south of North America.

Geopolitically, Central America has traditionally consisted of the following countries:

Belize
Costa Rica
El Salvador
Guatemala
Honduras
Nicaragua
Panama

The southernmost part of the country Panama belongs to the portion known as South America.

IT's NORTH AMERICA

This is not a hard question. Everyone should have learned this about 2nd grade. Unbelievable that people actually think it's South America. The isthmus of Panama has been regarded as the dividing line since N & S America were discovered.

Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas. It is variably defined either as being a region of the Americas in its own right or as the southern portion of North America.

So North America

North America. If you think about it, Central America is attached to North America. The Panama Canal seperates Central America and South America. So since its attached to north America, its north American...Geographically.

Though, socially its considered part of South America because the cultures is simliar to those countries.

I live in Panama City, Panama. I live east of the Canal (which divides the country in two). Perhaps I am wrong, but I consider myself as living on the continent of South America. The area west of the Canal, I consider North America. Wikipedia agrees with me...
