It seems to me I read something years ago about water lilies being a problem somewhere (maybe Florida?) because of their prolific reproduction and created havoc for boaters. But seems to me that there was research done and they do more good cleaning up the water than aggravation to boaters? Am I remembering wrong?

A net external force is applied to a 6.90-kg object that is initially at rest. The net force component along the displacement of the object varies with the magnitude of the displacement as shown in the drawing.

im sure ants can think, i'm sure worms and think, what about amebas or those other single cell organisms. protozoa or whatever, and paramecium. don't they need to think to find food? so what about the cells in our bodies? they have to decide what to do don't they? they have to know what to let into the cell and what to let out. how does your skin know that it has to heal? I sure as heck don't tell it to. it does it by itself. so am i built up of millions of tiny thinkers? In high school biology i was taught that the nucleus of a cell is the "brain" of the cell, or control center. how can it do this job without a mind?

Picture (or draw) a four quadrant graph with a sloped line running between the points (-10,0) (10,4).

Using this..graph of "f" find f(0). I don't have a clue and can't find a formula to even attempt to figure this one out.

Imagine that you are an engineer. You are designing a radio transmission tower that will be 100 m high. It will be supported by cables, called guy wires as follows:
-The guy wires will be anchored on the ground at three equally spaced location in a circle around the tower.
-The distance of the anchor points from the base of the tower will be one quarter the height of the tower.
-There will be five guy wires from each anchor point. The guy wires will be attatched to five points on the tower at 20 m intervals, going up.

Calculate the total amount of guy wire needed. Each guy wire requires 2 m at each end to attatch it to the tower and base. Round your answer to the closest metre. Show all your work. (You must use the pythagorean theorem to solve).

Haplogroup C chromosomes are common south of the Phillipines, with a significantly greater diversity, calculated as the average variance of the repeat score across loci, in the southern populations (Southeast Asia and Melanesia) than in the northern ones (southern China and Taiwan) (P<.01; 1,000 bootstraps over chromosomes) (tables 1 and 2).

Given its proximity to the impressive reported P-value, I'm not sure if the term is a reference to genetics or statistics. Anybody know?
