Yeah, make them graphable on your calc.

y = 4-x
y = 2x-2

If you want to solve, just set 4-x and 2x-2 equal to each other (since y must also be equal in both equations)

4-x=2x-2
3x=6
x=2

2+y=4
y=2

Their intersection is (2,2)

The y-intercept of the first is 4, and the second is 2.
The slope for the first is -1, and the second is 2.
The x-intercept of the first is 4, and the second is 1.

hey u want the intersection point between the two lines? if so:
x+y=4
2x-y=2
-----------
add them:
3x=6 ==========> x=2
2+y=4 =========>y=2
(2,2) is da solution without graphin it's easy

x + y = 4- - - - - - -Equation 1
2x + y = 2 - - - - - Equation 2
- - - - - - - -

Substitute method equation 1

x + y = 4

x + y - x = 4 - x

y = 4 - x

Insert the y value into equation 2

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - -

2x + y = 2

2x + 4 - x = 2

x + 4 = 2

x + 4 - 4 = 2 - 4

x = - 2

The answer is x = - 2

Insert the x value into equation 1

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

x + y = 4

- 2 + y = 4

- 2 + y + 2 = 4 + 2

y = 6

The answer is y = 6

Insert the y value into equation 1

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Check for equation 1

x + y = 4

- 2 + 6 = 4

4 = 4

- - - - - - - - - -

Check for equation 2

2x - y = 2

2(- 2) + 6 = 2

- 4 + 6 = 2

2 = 2

- - - - - - - - -

The solution set is { -2, 6 }

make a graph, for x+y=4
so when you substitute the number for the letter you get the answer four so graph (2,2) (3,1) (1,3) (4,0).

sub
y=2
so the soln.set={2,2)
for greaphing usethe points (0,4) and (4,0) for line 1
and (0,-2) and (1,0) for line2
