1.) the kinetic energy K varies jointly as the mass M and the square of the velocity V. if K is 30ergs when m is 8 gm and v is 3 cm/sec,find k if m=4 gm and v=6 cm/sec.





2.)the quantity Z varies directly as the square of X and inversely as the cube of y;z has the value 2/9 when x=2 and y=3. find the value of Z when X =1 and Y=4.






3.) The electrical resistance of a wire varies directly as its length and inversely as the square of its diameter. If a wire 50 m long and . 38cm in a diameter has a resistance of 3.5 ohms. what is the resistance of a wire of the same material 75m long and 0.625 cm in a diameter...

Scientists/ experts say that even the best of the human brain is utilised only to the extent of about 10 % of its capacity. That indicates there is quite a huge capacity left. If that is so, why is it that we are not even able to store what ever information is recorded. We forget the things which are either not imporatnt or are old, say by a few months or years. The information recorded requires some effort to recollect or sometimes we don't remember at all.

You know the story. You miss a class and then you fall behind. The subject gets harder because of the missing pieces. I was once told there was a logical sequence to learning math from Kindergarten to University. I'd love to see this "map" to learning mathematics as I'd like to use it for myself, my children and my grandchildren.
