like methane or hydrogen. I understand that this isn't true, but if you lit a match in a room with a 100% O2 atmosphere, would the match simply flare up much bigger than normal, or would there be an explosion?

Although it may seem counter-intuitive, if the room were filed with pure hydrogen or natural gas, you couldn't light a match at all since there's no oxygen to support burning...
