As far as I know, the colour is actually a 50/50 blue/green mix.
However, 'Blueys' cannot see how anyone could think it was green, and vice versa. I realise we all see slightly different colours, but why are people so defensive of 'their colour'?

I know this seems like a weird question, but I am trying to think of a good name. I am going to be writing a novel that involves a futuristic settlement on the Red Planet. I may just use the best answer in that novel.

(It will be in part two of a trilogy. I am halfway finished with the first novel right now.)

Serious responses only please! Any 'cute' answers will be reported!

If Earth's polar ice caps fully melted and the water returned to the oceans, the oceans would be deeper by about 30 m. What effect would this have on Earth's rotation?

Make an estimate of the resulting change in the length of the day. (Concern has been expressed that warming the atmosphere resulting from industrial pollution could cause the ice caps to melt.)

Would you use any formulas to solve this? Can you show your work? I happen to know the answer is the days would be longer by about 0.8 s. Good Luck!
