Triangle ABC is an isosceles triangle with the measure of angle B = the measure of angle C, and the measure of angle A = 20 degrees. Points D and E are located on sides AC and AB, respectively, so the the measure of angle CBD = 50 degrees and the measure of angle BCE = 40 degrees. Determine the measure of the angle BDE.

A person lifts a 4.8 kg cement block a vertical distance of 1.4 m and then carries the block horizontally a distance of 7.1 m.

The acceleration of gravity is approximately 9.81 m/s^2
Determine the work done by the person in the proscess. Answer must be in units of joules.

i know how to find the work done by each seperately but when i added the two, the site said my answer was wrong.

can someone explain to me how go about solving this?

I do not understand chemistry and I want to know the difference in lone pairs and bonds and how each repel other atoms. Such as if water's two lone pairs were changed into bonds, what would the geometric shape be?
Placing atoms in places also confuses me, like does it matter where the Cl atoms are put in the dichloromethane (CH2Cl2) in the geometric or lewis structure (if the Cl's could be opposite or adjacent to each other). And since it is already filling it's all 8 electron shells, is the CH2Cl2 already non-polar? Or is it still polar?

A baseball (m = 149 g) approaches a bat horizontally at a speed of 43.7 m/s (98 mi/h) and is hit straight back at a speed of 48.3 m/s (108 mi/h). If the ball is in contact with the bat for a time of 1.10 ms, what is the average force exerted on the ball by the bat? Neglect the weight of the ball, since it is so much less than the force of the bat. Choose the direction of the incoming ball as the positive direction.

I've used (Sum of forces)(time)=(mass x Vf) - (mass x Vo)
doesn't seem to be working, and time is in miliseconds. any help?

Hi, I had a lab today where we find constant using Titration curve, im not sure how to do that last part.

My average of volumes, for pH 7 = 6.97. I think I devide this by 2 to get the half equivalence point, which would be 3.49mL at that my pOH was 4.51,

I was titrating 10mL of unknown acid with .1000M NaOH

the equation I use is pOH = pKb + log [conjugate acid]/[base]

Im not quite sure what to do from there, I dont know how to get the conjugate acid, and what is the base .1000 because thats what its molarity is? Do I plug 4.51 into the pOH and then devide log conju acid/base by 4.51 to get pKb, is pKb the dissociation constant?

Any help or infomation would be appreciated.
