The hare population would increase exponentially in the absence of its predator. It would not increase without bound, though. It would only increase until it reaches the maximum that the local resources (space, water, edible plants) can support, and then it will level out.

Other predators would move into the Lynx territories and control the hares.

like davidk93 said, the hare population will continue to increase to its maximum WHICH is LIMITED because their might not be enough resources for the rabbits to use. But if the enviroment does not provide enough resources for it, then the rabbits will start dying out untill there are enough resources again.

In a simplified environment - one in which there are no other predators of hare - the hare population would explode (grow, unchecked, until it ran out of food).

well it will probably not increase but decrease because lions have been backing off of that for a while but if the lynxes disappear the lions will get at it
