Actually I believe it was the source of the Nile-Lake Victoria(?) in Africa.
I mean this is one of the most important rivers on earth, it basically created one of the many subsequent ancient civilization(s)! The article I read did not offer any way to help avoid this disaster-does anyone know about this and how to help?

Thanks for your answers. dualspace was spot on. Thanks. yupchagee gave an answer very close, but the rounding and sequence of calculations probably made the difference. This is the VB6 code I am now using.

sngRate = sngRate * (intTerm / 365)
curPrincipal = curInterest / (sngRate / 100)

i'm trying to do a practice test for extra practice but i don't even understand the practice i'm getting a littel sleepy. so if some one could help me understand some of these one i think i could figer it out for the rest.

1. "solve each equation.then check your solution."

2."solve each proportion."

3. y/4=y+5over 8

Okay this is the probem:

I understood it until the part i circled in green on this link:

then I couldn't understand where the 5/4 came from(the part I circled in red. Please explain this to me. I missed the class where we were taught to do this so i probably missed something
