Remember this magic number, 3.2808. Say for example 15 inch is 1.25feet. Divide it by 3.2808 gives u an accurate 0.381 number in metre. The use of the significant numbers is to prevent rounding off error.

A meter (metre) is 39.37 inches.
A foot is 12 inches.
You can divide one by the other to get the conversion from feet to metres, or vice-versa.

If you are after a rough estimate not and exact science of it all. 30cm ruler equates to 12 inches, 12 inches is a foot. So just over 3 feet is a metre

go to weather net work there is a conversion table there or just type in conversion table and I'm sure you will come up with all kinds of help not only for metres to feet but liquid measure fathoms to feet, legues to feet, etc etc
