My cousin and I were driving home last night from a club and on our way back home we saw a bright light shoot by into the woods. It looked like a bright rock and we thought it might have been a falling star or something to that effect. It really freaked us out but we both saw it so we know we aren't seeing things. It came from the sky and just fell into the woods. It was so fast that I couldn't see it that well but it was definitely a bright rock looking object. Someone pleaseee give me some ideas as to what it would be before I go insane, haha.

1. How do joules, calories, and nutritional calories differ?

2. Suppose you combine two solutions in a test tube and they react. How would you determine whether the reaction was endothermic or exothermic?

3. A classmate argues that the burning of charcoal must be an endothermic process because getting the charcoal started requires the input of a large amount of heat. Would you agree? Explain

4. Think of the different methods used to cook food. In what sort of cooking might you want to use cooking utensils with low specific heat? Wher might utensils with high specific heat be useful?

Carbon has the highest melting point (3620 Degrees Celcius) of any element and a specific heat of 0.7099 J/g*Celcius. Tungsten has a specific heat of 0.1320 J/g*Celcius. An 11.2 g sample of carbon is heated to its melting point and allowed to radiate heat to a 165.3 g sample of tungsten. The initial temperature of the tungsten is 31.0 Degrees Celcius. How many Celcius degrees will the temperature of the tungsten sample increase?

Three coplanar forces act on a 75000.0 kg object in outer space, where there is no gravity: 14.2 kN directed at 357°, 25.6 kN at 138°, and 16.4 kN at 255°. All directions are with respect to the x direction.

What is the magnitude and direction of the acceleration?

If the object has an initial velocity of 17.5 miles/h directed at 58.6° in the same plane as all three forces, what will its velocity and position be after the force has been applied for 65.5 s?

What will the objects direction from the origin be and in what direction will it be moving assuming the force was applied at the origin of coordinates?
