I understand that it has to do with density of the water to the density of the ship, but explaining it to a child doesn't work. I read somewhere that it also has something to do with displacement of water. I will need to explain this to my children (and my wife too).

I believe it is finite.
If it is infinite then everything is in this infinite space, and everything is happening/ has happened ie. there are infinite you's so you have done everything.

The experiment was separation of the components of a mixture. I am trying to find the percentage recovery, when separating the mixture. The mixture that was used, was ammoinum chloride, sodium chloride and sand. The mixture was decanted twice with water. The NaCl was heated to evaporate the water. If the NaCl is not completely dried, how will it affect my percentage recovery?
