I washed-up a glass tumbler in warm water and put it on the draining board. About 30 seconds later, it exploded into fragments with a bang. My TV was on, but the volume was quiet and I don't recall any music playing.

People are warned not to use their telephone during a thunderstorm. I don't doubt you could be shocked doing this but could the voltage be sufficient to kill someone. I don't recall ever reading about an instance of this ACTUALLY resulting in a fatality. Consequently should I really be worried or is the possibility too remote?

So today I was in the car, and my father was driving, and I was just looking around for a while, and then later looked at the front window of the car, and the sun was there and bright, and I looked at it accidentally right there, and right when I saw it, I turned away because I know you are not supposed to look at the sun. I'm worrying now. Has this happened to anyone before and since this happened will anything happen to my eyes? Thanks, and answers for both questions would be good and 10 pts will be yours.

Ok, here's the question...

"A child can throw a baseball at 20mph. Some pro ball players can throw a baseball at 100mph, which is five times as fast. How much more energy does the pro ball player give to the faster ball?"

Since the ball is in motion, should I use the equation for Kinetic Energy (which is KE =1/2mass x speed^2)

I know you can get meningitis from drinking out of the same water bottle as someone, etc., but then wouldn't it be logical that you could get it from kissing too??

This is all completely theoretical (I wasn't kissing anyone who got meningitis, or anything), so no one get worried!!
